So... I made a hasty decision to upgrade to the MT 4.0 beta. Comments are broken on the front and back ends, and I have to access my links in the footer (which are managed via a separate blog) in a very roundabout way. Also, the site loads very slowly, for my static site pages, and for the admin pages.
MT 4.0b1 reminds me more of the functionality I've seen in WordPress or Expression Engine, but it's definitely got a beta feel to it. The admin interface has changed in so many ways. Everything is still available via dropdowns, but I miss having everything right there for me to click on. Looking forward to the more polished release. I also got a little crazy and added ReCAPTCHA to comments. It's for a good cause, but I've got to figure out how to get it to play nice with this beta.
They've also added the ability to manage assets directly from the CMS, but being a web designer, and seeing as how I put all that money into buying Transmit, I'll stick to FTPing everything and typing out the code myself. Another new feature is the addition of pages. I'm timid about trying this one out, since I hammered MT's code around my own design. I'm loathe to break anything else!
Update: Having communicated with one of the SixApart engineers, I found out that editing comments (or lack thereof) is a widespread bug. Leaving authenticated comments on this site will also result in an error message, though the comment will be posted.
