John Casasanta and crew have rolled out iClip 4, and Maczot is offering reduced pricing, per blog review of the product. After 209 reviews, it'll be free for 3,500 lucky fans. Here's to hoping it isn't over during my evening commute...

This is a welcome impetus to re-explore a decent app that had previously proven it's worth in my workflow and then fallen out of favor. At some point I had obtained iClip3 for free, when Inventive was first touting the upcoming iClip4 on Maczot. I found it saved me a lot of time, since I'm a code jockey for health supplement company and I'm always pulling in copy, image names, and SKUs from 50 differents places. Not having to constantly copy & paste from one app to another was a life saver. I stopped using iClip3 after a while, as it became buggier and buggier. It was never that responsive to begin with, but after a couple of months it was having more and more UI issues, spilling over into affecting the operation of my OS.

So here's iClip4. I haven't used it much, but I like what I see so far. The dock-like auto hiding is snappier, for one. The toggling between the Recorder (on-the-fly recording) and the saved Clips functions well. Overall, iClip4 is more mature visually, but bordering on the flashy side. I'd like to see theming made available (if at all possible). The preferences are by far more intuitive and far less torturous visually. Pasting also seems to function better.

Overall, iClip4 is very a useful, attactive mini-app, and I will continue using it until my trial runs out. Hopefully by then I will have been compelled to purchase it or will have received a free copy. Cheers!
