Migrated

It's late. The site has been migrated without any big hitches. MediaTemple is amazing. Sure, they've been having their growing pains, but their new setup is genius. If I were on a ship called Firefly, I might even say "shiny". More after the jump...
Milton at MediaTemple was extremely helpful in getting me acclimated to the new digs. It was close to 4am (EST) when I spoke with him, so I'm pretty sure (mt) was dead as a doornail as far as support went. It was really comforting to talk to a real-deal, flesh-and-blood human being for a support request rather than get a damned email. Sometimes those are helpful in their own way — good for documentation.
As part of our late night chat, Milton divulged some things to me. It's now common knowledge in the webgeek community that there have been some outages recently over at (mt) that people have been yelling about. Particularly people who lived through Dreamhost's big mess this summer, or those who were looking forward to the new Grid Server (gs) plan.
Break out the waaaahmbulance. (mt) has been an exceptional host to me over the past year. No outages. Granted, I could've been more proactive about utilizing my year of free hosting, so I wasn't paying as much attention to my site as I am now. But you have to stop and appreciate where they're going with the new account center and grid server plans. And realize that a lot of what goes into it is some kickass, custom development. That's not without its kinks. And according to Milton, things are changing weekly. You want a superior host? They're going to have to test some things in the wild. But you'll end up with a mature, developer/designer-centric host.
So thanks to Milton for shedding some light on things.
Other stuff: This site still needs "about" and "folio" pages added. And the bugs need to be stamped out. Safari and IE are giving me fits. I was going to do it today, but... Maybe Sunday. I've been sitting in front of a computer of some kind for too long.
